Bacon Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • 4-8 slices bacon
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 c Worchestshire Sauce
  • 3/4 c ketchup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash of hot sauce optional

Method

Step 1

chop bacon and fry in pan until crispy. If using more bacon, drain or blot off extra fat - leaving some for cooking veggies and browning meat.

Step 2

Push bacon to outside of pan. Add garlic and veggies. Add salt and pepper. Cook until tender.

Step 3

Push veggies to outside of pan. Place meat in center and brown, using a wooden spoon to break up as it cooks. Add salt and pepper.

Step 4

Mix all together once meat is browned. Add worchestshire and ketchup. (hot sauce optional to taste) Stir together and let simmer until warm.

Step 5

Serve on toasted buns with optional slice of cheese. 🙂
